Instructions Log into the CMS (Content Management System) by clicking on "Editor Login" at the bottom of any yu.edu page. Your username will be your first initial combined with your last name. Do not use your email address. (Example vedge) In the same browser, navigate to your faculty page. You will see a blue bar at the top. Click on the "Edit" button. Your faculty page is comprised of many sections. These sections and their headers will only show up on your page if you add information to them. For example, if you do no include books in the "Publications" section, that section will not be seen on your page. When you have completed your edits, click on the blue "Save" button at the bottom, and your changes will be live! Content Managers Playbook What does a content manager do? A content manager (CM) oversees and makes all changes to the content and assets (e.g., videos, images, etc.) on his/her site. CMs are also responsible for reviewing their site regularly to ensure content and assets are constantly fresh and remain relevant to their users. How does someone become a content manager? The head of a department or school assigns the content manager. Ok, I’ve been assigned as a content manager. What’s next? Your department head must email Vickey Edge edge@yu.edu and include the name of the person who will be the content manager of your department’s website. When do I have access to the content management system (CMS) to start editing my site? You can only gain access to your site in the CMS after you’ve received CMS training with a member of the CPA staff. CPA will coordinate the training once it receives the email from your department head of the new CM. Once you’ve completed your training and permissions have been granted, you have access to the CMS 24/7, barring any unforeseen issues. How do I assign a new content manager (replacement or addition)? Your department head must email Vickey Edge edge@yu.edu with the name of the new content manager. How do I rename a navigation on my site? Email Vickey Edge edge@yu.edu and specify the exact name of the navigation that you want to rename and what its new nomenclature should be. How can I add a new page to my site? Complete the . If you see something on another Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» site that you believe needs to be changed, email Vickey Edge edge@yu.edu and be sure to include the name of the site. CPA will then send you the name of that site's content manager, so you can discuss further with her/him (typically, CPA is not involved in such discussions). Who can help me with a Google doc (or PowerPoint, etc.) on my site? CPA supports the University’s content management system (CMS) and will be happy to help you with any questions you have specifically about our CMS.
