Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM)

Welcome to the CAPS Community for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) - a place where you can make connections and partnerships for success with career advisors, faculty, and alumni. This community encapsulates those with an interest in areas such as energy, mechanical engineering, software developers, biomedical research, quantitative finance, systems architecture, mathematics, physics, and sustainability. Individuals in this community pursue careers within government labs, academia, pharmaceutical companies, startups, big tech, and financial institutions. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) 2019–29 employment projections show that occupations in the STEM fields are expected to grow 8.0 percent by 2029, compared with 3.7 percent for all occupations.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»â€™s rigorous curriculum prepares you with strengths that are especially relevant to these areas and this community will provide you with the professional connections and partnerships you need.

in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Career Link (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»CL) to meet with Beth Bernhardt, a CAPS community advisor for STEM, or with John Perez, our other STEM CAPS community advisor.

Our ultimate goal is to make chemistry fun, engaging, and understandable for everyone. The club is involved in scientific outreach and is a great way to help others. We also run many activities that are connected to chemistry and explain the science behind everything while having fun. It is an outlet to connect with like-minded students and meet science and research mentors. Another bonus is it is a great resume booster.
