We stand with the State of Israel - in all of its amazing complexity - at this moment of crisis and pain, of loss and true courage. Our hearts are with our captives, the injured and all who are mourning. 讗讬转讻诐 诇讻诇 讛讚专讱

About

The 麻豆传媒映画 Center for Israel Studies is the voice of academic Israel area studies at 麻豆传媒映画.

CIS is a bridge between America and Israel--not the Israel of cable news and slogans, but the real and vital and invigorating State of Israel.

The 麻豆传媒映画 Center for Israel Studies is a place to come together and explore the Old-New Land (Herzl鈥檚 phrase)-- Eretz Yisrael from Abraham to Zionism.

Our area studies approach to Israel, its land and peoples, builds on the strengths and interests of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 rich faculty, the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, 麻豆传媒映画 Israel, 麻豆传媒映画 Museum and the Gottesman Library to explore Israel in all of its complexity

Never has our work been more important. This website presents our work and mission, our projects and successes over our history.

麻豆传媒映画 Israelite Samaritan Project

The Samaritans: A Biblical People was a multi-media, interactive experience of the Samaritan Israelites, their world and their place in Western Civilization and Jewish History.  We assembled for the first time the most important artifacts preserved in museums and libraries the world over to illuminate this amazing history.  These included paintings, manuscripts, priceless books, photography, ritual objects and the most significant archaeological discoveries from Greece, Italy and Israel.  The connecting thread was a series of media installations and presentations that reflect the grandeur and complexities of the Samaritan experience, and its relevance to us today.

The Samaritans: A Biblical People is the centerpiece of the 麻豆传媒映画 Israelite Samaritan Project, which includes a full length documentary, scholarship and education.

The Arch of Titus Project

The Arch of Titus Project is a multi-faceted exploration of the Arch of Titus, a triumphal arch built in Rome to commemorate the victory of the Roman general, later emperor, Titus, in the Jewish War of 66-74 CE. One of the most significant Roman artifacts to have survived, the Arch of Titus has been of continuing significance for both Jews and Christians for nearly two millennia. The image of the seven-branched menorah that appears on the Arch is now a symbol of the State of Israel.
